Men are known to engage in more strenuous activities in life. Like a general rule, men are supposed to be strong - physically and mentally. Yoga is becoming more popular among men, and for good reason. Besides getting rid of stress and increasing flexibility, it may lower the risk of heart disease, depression, and high blood pressure. Everyone experiences stress and men are not exempt from this reality. Yoga is a mind-body experience where co-ordination which a vital part of a person's health and general well being is enhanced. In India, the practice of yoga until recently, been the nearly excusive domain for men .Virtually all the Indian masters who brought yoga in the west were men.

Ironically, however, yoga in the west have been largely practiced by women. Yoga should be a part of every man's program for overall fitness and healthy lifestyle.
